From March 10-12, 2008, over 500 leaders from all sectors – public, private and non-profit – gathered outside Washington, DC at the Partnering for Global Health Forum 2008: an interactive conference to foster an open dialogue and exchange of ideas regarding the complex issues surrounding innovation for diseases of the poor. Organized by BIO Ventures for Global Health and the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), with lead sponsorship from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Forum offered presentations from innovators and funders; high-level plenary sessions; engaging panel discussions; and hundreds of partnering meetings between innovators, investors and NGOs exploring potential collaborations.
