Corporate Leadership Council

Transforming the status quo for millions is a collaborative process.

A growing number of biopharmaceutical executives recognize the importance of addressing the unmet medical needs in poor countries. These leaders realize that they are in a unique position to make a real impact on the health of poor patients.

Our Corporate Leadership Council brings together industry leaders who share the same vision: to develop innovative solutions to global health problems by creating market opportunities and uniting public and private sector investors.

Chairing the Council and helping drive this vision are two biotechnology innovators: John Maraganore, CEO of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, and George Scangos, CEO of Exelixis, Inc.

Council Goals

The Council works to build commitment within the biopharmaceutical industry and increase the number of companies actively engaged in global health. Council members address ways to overcome barriers to research and development, and look at innovative strategies for attracting capital to new projects. The Council also provides a forum for highlighting the role of biotechnology in global health.

BIO Ventures for Global Health is supported financially by contributions from the Corporate Leadership Council.  This funding allows us to build new programs that will eventually benefit the biotechnology sector in their efforts to engage in global health.
