A new program to increase India’s rate of immunizing newborns by monitoring vaccination status via mothers’ mobile phones was launched this week, The Wall Street Journal reports. To ensure the babies are given the full spectrum of required immunizations, including those for tuberculosis, polio, whooping cough, and others, the women will be tracked in the future by central or state governments.
