How do we develop new drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics for the people that need them most?
Every year, neglected diseases kill millions of people in poor countries. For some diseases, the tools that can prevent, diagnose, and treat these diseases are inaccessible, outdated, unsafe, or ineffective.
For many other neglected diseases, these tools have not yet been created. There are no vaccines to prevent them, no diagnostics to determine who has them, and no drugs to treat them.
Creating and delivering the tools to fight these diseases is a complex puzzle. No one sector alone has the resources to solve the great unmet medical needs of our times.
It will take the public and private sectors working together to meet global health needs and save lives in developing countries.
