Improving Cancer Treatment in Africa
Through the African Access Initiative (AAI) BVGH will engage pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government officials in African countries, national cancer directors, oncologists, and hospital administrators to come together with a common goal to improve cancer patient treatment and care. Innovative partnerships and business models will be built and tiered pricing models explored with the intent to provide affordable, sustainable access to essential cancer technologies and therapeutics. The capabilities, priorities, and interests of each participating company will be matched with the goals of participating African governments and healthcare leaders.
The AAI will leverage BVGH’s strong relationships with healthcare and oncology leaders in Africa and the pharmaceutical/life science industry throughout the world. BVGH is uniquely positioned to conceive, coordinate, and implement programs that are customized to each participating company’s strategic interests and priorities. Beyond providing access to therapeutics and diagnostic, treatment, and patient management technologies, these programs will be designed to increase patient awareness and education, build healthcare provider and cancer researcher capacity, and strengthen healthcare infrastructure.
The AAI is an integrated package of programs, activities, and partnerships designed to address the primary barriers to cancer treatment in Africa.
